We strive to showcase the stories of veterans’ successful return to civilian life to motivate others and tell them about the opportunities for self-realisation after the war. Some have retrained, started their own business, or founded a social project. We are convinced that these stories of strong people who did it can inspire everyone to achieve.
The FPEC held five forums within the framework of the information campaign ” Keen on Life. Veterans’ success stories”, which were attended by about 270 people, including 145 veterans, 66 representatives of NGOs, and 59 media representatives. As a result, 79 materials were published in the media, and 36 veterans became speakers at the Forums.
The photo project is dedicated to the figure of a veteran. On the one hand, he is a hero whom everyone admires. On the other hand, the origin of the word “veteran” suggests that society no longer needs him. It is this dual nature that makes this image similar to Janus, the god of beginnings and endings, who looks to the future with one face and looks back to the past with the other. With this photo project, which is documentary, artistic and cathartic at the same time, we want to show the diversity of veterans and debunk certain stereotypes about them. After all, each of them is, first and foremost, a person who has his or her own needs, preferences, sees the world and lives in it in his or her own way.
The FPEC organized a photo exhibition, which was visited by 120 people. 14 veterans took part in the photo exhibition.
«Transformation of military skills into civilian ones – I never thought about it. It helped me to rethink my experience and feel more confident,» say most of the participants in the projects of the NGO FPEC.
78% of ex-combatants who applied to the project “Decent work for a soldier” do not perceive military service as part of their career, 80% do not indicate military experience in their CVs or only indicate the length of service without official duties. However, we are convinced that military experience is part of a professional path.
The FPEC held 6 online dialogues between veterans and employers, which were viewed by 7307 people, published 44 materials about the project and launched a special project “On the Career Frontline” on the Happy Monday job website, which received 47,820 views. In addition, an employment guide “Military Immunity in a Civilian Career” was developed and used by more than 5,000 veterans.
